Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:!4

I have been meaning to post for awhile about something special that happened in our family. A few weeks ago, Lily proclaimed at dinner .... "Last night when I was talking to God in my bed, I asked Him to live in my heart" Well to say we were shocked is putting it lightly. What a lesson and blessing this is to me for so many reasons.

I've tended to have a dark view on the subject of little kids receiving Christ. I've always really believed that it came from their parents or other influences. Now not to say that Lily hasn't been influenced, but we certainly haven't been telling her that she needed to ask God to come into her heart. This is really a testament to God taking the words we have said and making them known to a little child. This was all His doing.

Also, to have something like this come during such a dark time spriritually for myself is another gift of God. It wasn't me that led Lily to the Lord, He did it himself. What a declaration of his glory. How can I not be transformed by His love for me when it is demonstrated through my own daughter.

I am so thankful for her special year at preschool. I know this has been such a foundational year for her, she has learned so much about God in her life that she is certainly not going to get as clearly in public school. I'm also thankful for AWANA. I pray that she learns to value memorizing Gods word and never turns from that. Another beautiful lesson to me!

So praise God for His work in my daughter. I couldn't have made her who she is without Him.

Ok I thought of something....

Beau - 9 months
Beau 15 months
Beau 18 months
Beau 21 months
Beau 2 1/2

My sweet little Beau ... oh how I love to look at pictures of him. I can't believe how he's grown! Lately his favorite thing to cart around with him is a children's Bible he got for Christmas. Last week at our home group, I noticed him off to the side reading it and the next time I looked a little crowd of the kids had circled around him. I don't know if he was saying anything or if they were, but maybe we have a little evangelist in our hands. :) We'll watch and see. Beau-bie Graham anyone? :)
As was pointed out ... I've been absent from the blogger lately. I just haven't been as struck with things to comment on. Not that the kids haven't been cute. :) I do just want to record how blessed we've been feeling lately.

This whole year has been such an amazing lesson in so many ways. And we're still learning. It's been another tight year financially for us. Oh how I long for the days when we don't worry about money they way we do now. I know there are always money issues and I know that we could be worse off, we have a wonderful house, Lily goes to a great preschool and so we sacrifice. We've never missed a meal. God has protected us from sickness over and over again.

Lily and Beau have been healthy practically their whole lives, we have only gone to the doctor, illness related one time for each of them! And even illnesses that wouldn't have required the doc. have been few and far between. Now trust me, I'm not bragging, (if you've ever seen me pick up my kids food off the floor and offer it back to them, you'll know :) I give God all the credit for this. Praise Him for keeping us healthy!

We have been gifted with food and money always at the time's we've needed it most. Our families have been wonderful, I hope that'll we'll always be able to be in Lily and Beau's lives the way, our parents have been in ours. I hope that God allows them to feel like the blessed givers that they are.

And then there's the issue of transportation. We have had many people offer us rides on hard days and for different amounts of time. Kyle has given of his time for the kids and I. Lily's teachers have gone above and beyond giving her rides home from school. I just could never have imagined people being so generous to us. And now we have a neighbor who is at home most mornings, who has been letting us borrow her car EVERYDAY! She's actually rearranged her schedule so that we could use her car! And this coming at a time where I really didn't think I could go on with our bus routine, God steps in again and provides. I just am shocked and amazed and grateful. It is just wonderful to be the recipient of people who take care of their community. May that lesson never leave our hearts!!

So I don't know where I'm going with this, but just to say, God is working on my cold, dark heart and is proving His love to me. It took a little waking up on my part, but He's getting through to me. Thank you!
